Longfield is a Pony Club Centre, which means you can enjoy all the benefits of being a member of the Pony Club without owning your own pony! Open to all children age 4 to 21, joining the Pony Club is a great way to enjoy riding, learn about horses, take part in events and activities and have fun with other horse lovers of your own age.
Not many people realise that the Pony Club is an international youth organisation, just like the Cub Scouts and Brownie Guides and, just like the Cub Scouts and Brownie Guides, you can work towards achievement badges and meet and compete with other centres at regional and national events.
Weekly Pony Club sessions that include lessons in riding, horse care and stable management • Regular Pony Club badge days • Special Pony Club events at the centre, e.g. mounted games, quizzes and social events • The opportunity to be part of a team competing in regional and national Pony Club events
On your next visit to Longfield, ask at reception and we will give you a Pony Club joining form. You just need to complete the form and return it. There is a modest subscription fee that is renewable annually, but a reminder will be sent to you when your subs are due. Fill out the Centre membership form here and put Longfield Equestrian as the centre name.
We will forward the completed form and payment to the Pony Club on your behalf. Once they have processed your form, you will be sent a joining pack, including your membership card and a rosette. All Pony Club activities are charged for but we try to keep costs as reasonable as possible. Payment for the different activities is made to Longfield Equestrian Centre.
Pony Club Achievement Badges cover both equine and non-equine subjects.
There are also Mini Badges aimed at younger members.
Both types of badge help you to develop your knowledge and learn a wide range of practical skills. We hold regular Badge Days throughout the year.
For an up to date list of badges visit the Pony Club website.
As a livery at Longfield, I feel that my horse is kept in safe hands and i have mountains of knowledge and help around me!
I've been riding at Longfield for 7 years and I’ve never gone a lesson without learning something new. The best thing so far was going to the Pony Club championships in 2010, it was ace!
Having been a contented 'happy hacker' for many years I had developed several bad habits and needed some professional input... What a find Longfield Equestrian Centre has been! Well cared for, happy contented horses, great facilities and a truly wonderful, friendly and helpful staff. My instructor Kate has been superb. Taking time to understand what i want from the lessons, she has a great way of explaining things, is happy to answer any questions and has worked with me to improve my riding position and skills. I would not hesitate in recommending Longfield Eqestrian Centre to anyone.
My Instructor Kate is the best, as she gets the best out of me, with lessons that are challenging and fun. I’m left very satisfied and looking forward to learning more. All possible thanks to well cared for chosen horses.
