About Us

Longfield Equestrian Centre has been at the heart of the riding community in Calderdale for over 30 years. The centre was first established in 1979 by dressage rider Christine Farnaby on her family farm. Whilst most of Middle Longfield Farm is now given over to horses, we are very proud of our prize-winning flock of Hampshire Down sheep.

From humble beginnings as a small riding school, we have grown into a thriving centre offering a wide range of equestrian services. Christine continues to provide expert tuition and training and she is now supported by a team of friendly, professional instructors whose qualifications range from BHSAI to BHSI.

Together, we have a wealth of experience when it comes to teaching complete beginners to ride, helping novice riders to progress, and coaching advanced competition riders and career students.

Accreditation

Whether you want to learn to ride or train up to an advanced level, you want to pick a centre that is both reputable and well run. BHS Approved Centres are inspected annually to ensure all necessary standards have been met, including the quality of the facilities used for teaching, the quality and qualifications of the teaching staff, the suitability of the horses and ponies and the safety procedures.
