  • Try TREC!

This week everyone on the yard is talking about the 'Introduction to TREC' event that we're hosting in June - trying to guess what type of obstacles they might have to tackle in the 'Have a Go' session.

TREC is based on the skills required for hacking, which makes it accessible to riders of all ages and abilities.

It focuses on the rider's ability to navigate, control their horse’s paces and tackle a variety of obstacles. These skills are tested over three phases – orienteering on horseback (POR), control of paces (CoP) and a cross-country / obstacle course (PTV).

So, if you're looking for a fun way to learn new skills and build the confidence of both you and your horse, come and find out more about TREC on Saturday 22nd June.

There will be lots more information about what TREC involves and the different levels and phases of competition and, of course, there will be an opportunity for you and your horse to have a go at some TREC-style obstacles.

You will find more details on our Events page, but there are only a limited number of places available for the ‘Have a Go’ session, so don’t leave booking too late.
